In the last 8 years I have seen film screens manufactures grown
quite a bit due to the huge increase in projector sales
worldwide. Today there are well over 40 screen manufactures that
I can think of but less than a hand full that can make reference
caliber film screens for high-end theaters.
Let's talk about
that last statement for a minute, a true reference film screen
lprovides a picture with superior sharpness, contrast,
brightness, and it displays colors accurately. But most
important it provides the experience of being there, it provides
the ultimate realism to transport you to the scene, putting in
the middle of the movie or concert.
You see that
fidelity of the picture samples projected on the DNP Supernova
Reference Film Screen above, you can kiss that good bye with
other screens. That transparency, superb blacks, whites and life
you can kiss all that good bye too. With regular screens those
same images will look washed up, lifeless in comparison, that
realism and that feeling of being there is simply out the door.
The bottom line is that DNP
Supernova screens makes any projector look 30% to 50% better
than any other film screen available on the market.
Take it from
experience, a film screen is about the only thing in your
theater that you probably will never replace ever again, it's
quite a job to set it up, it requires minimum of three people to
set it up properly, it's extremely delicate and expensive to
ship. Projectors and equipment will come and go though the years
but your film screen will stay with you for as long as you own
your theater.
So do you self a
big favor and don't take your film screen for granted, keep in
mind that your picture quality can only be as good as the screen
that reflects the picture. Do it right the first time, get the
best from the start and avoid the regrets that you didn't get
right from the start.
